Charity Green is an Indie artist from Detroit, MI who has been in love with music since as early as she can remember. Growing up, she participated in musicals, church, school choir, plays, and many other activities involving music. She studies great artists such as Stevie Wonder, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan, and Aretha Franklin, while also being heavily influenced by amazing gospel artists such as The Clark Sisters, Bebe and CeCe Winans, Mary Mary, Smokie Norful, and Donnie McClurkin.
A lot of Charity’s inspiration for her music comes from personal experiences, while other comes from conversations with friends, family, and random encounters, like in her latest single “DND”. The song is about moving on from a toxic situation, and focusing on yourself after failed love. It is written to encourage people to leave negative situations that don’t uplift them. The track is an amazing piece of work that I would recommend anyone adds to their playlist. With the talent, work ethic, and so much potential that Charity has, it is evident that she looks forward to having a bright future in the music industry.
