About Mezz:

Mezz Entertainment is in the entertainment industry as an artist management and consulting agency. We help rising artists become stars through creative direction, promotion, management, and event production. We’ve landed deals with Grammy Award-Winning music producers, established brand partnerships with Reebok, booked artists to festivals like SXSW, and coordinated interviews with Sirius XM.

Artist Management and Promotion Internships

Internship Description

If you are interested in the music industry and gaining hands-on experience in client management, Mezz Entertainment’s internship in Artist Management and Promotion is a great opportunity for you. Through our internship program, students will gain hands-on experience managing and promoting clients for interviews, shows, and press. Interns will work remotely for the duration of the internship with three weekly teleconference meetings as well as daily communication. This department is split into 3 sub departments that are described below:

Public Relations

Interns will:
– Promote artists to radio outlets, podcasts, online magazines, and blogs
– Write artist biographies and promotion material
– Develop and maintain contacts throughout music and entertainment industry
– Effectively research and pitch clients to ideal platforms

Brand Partnerships

Interns will:
– Find and research new and exciting brands
– Pitch clients to brands that align with clients image
– Maintain and develop relationships with contacts
– Help land brand partnership deals for clients
– Listen in on brand deal calls and takes notes for client manager
– Gain experience in negotiating

Artist Bookings

Interns will:
– Find and research clubs/bars/venues
– Pitch artist to clubs/bars/venues– Help land gigs and book artist for shows
– Listen in on booking calls and take notes for client manager

Qualifications and Requirements

-Knowledge and experience with social media a must
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Strong research skills
-Self directed independent workers with unmatched work ethics who enjoy being a part of a team
-Hold degree or currently pursuing degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, Music Business, or a similar field
-Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

Time Commitment and Location:

This internship program requires a 15 hour minimum per week commitment. Artist Management
and Promotion interns will attend three weekly meetings over Zoom. Meetings are 1-2 hours
long, and the schedule is as follows:
-Monday: team meeting at 6:45 p.m. EST
-Thursday: team meeting at 6:45 p.m. EST
-Department meeting – TBA

Compensation and Benefits

This internship does not offer monetary compensation. We offer college credit. We welcome passionate, enthusiastic students, eligible to receive school credit and will help complete all the necessary paperwork. This is not your typical internship. You are a part of the Mezz team and will be directly involved in all of our work. You don’t get coffee for the artist management team, you are on the management team reaching out to contacts and promoting our artists. Your ideas are highly valued and everything you do for us is meaningful and will pay back in a one of a kind experience.

Social Media Internship

Internship Description

Are you a social media master? Are you interested in the music industry and gaining hands-on experience in client management? If this sounds like you, Mezz Entertainment can help you gain the skills and expertise you need. Through our internship program, students will learn about the behind-the-scenes of the entertainment industry. Interns will work remotely for the duration of the internship with three weekly teleconference meetings as well as daily communication.

Interns will:

– Develop promotions, media content, and campaigns
– Manage social media accounts
– Develop and utilize effective methods to track and evaluate performance of social media
– Collaborate with team members to enhance our brand image
– Write artist biographies and promotion material
– Communicate with their team daily

Qualifications and Requirements:

-Knowledge and experience with social media a must

Digital Media Internship

Internship Description

This position is ideal for someone who wants to create graphics and digital content for Mezz Entertainment and our clients, as well as capture and edit photos and videos, create promotional assets, and build websites. Through our internship program, students will gain hands-on experience in digital creation. Interns will work remotely for the duration of the internship with three weekly teleconference meetings as well as daily communication. This department is split into 4 divisions that are described below:

Videography/Photography

Interns will:
– Attend events to capture video footage and photos
– Edit photos
– Edit video footage
– Create promotional material

Graphic Design

Interns will:
– Create flyers
– Build logos
– Design and assist in EPK/press kit production
– Produce assets for social media
– Draw and create logos
– Design merchandise
– Construct 2D/3D work

Website Creation/Development

Interns will:
– Create the design and layout of a website
– Develop new websites
– Update existing websites

Qualifications and Requirements:

– Knowledge and experience with social media a must
– Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and After Effects
– Familiar with Canva, Wix, and WordPress
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Self directed independent workers with unmatched work ethic who enjoy being a part of a team
– Hold a degree or currently pursuing a degree in Digital Media, Marketing, PR, Communications, Music Business, Visual Arts, Computer Science, or a similar field 
– Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

This internship program requires a 15 hour minimum per week commitment. Digital interns will attend three weekly meetings over Zoom. Meetings are 1-2 hours long, and the schedule is as follows:
-Monday: team meeting at 6:45 p.m. EST
-Wednesday: digital meeting at 6:00 p.m. EST
-Thursday: team meeting at 6:45 p.m. EST

A&R Internship

Internship Description

Do you love listening to music and finding new talent online? Are you the type of person who discovers new artists before they blow up? If so, then the A&R internship at Mezz is the perfect fit for you! Through our internship program, students will gain hands-on experience in curating and managing playlists on several different platforms while listening to and sorting through an abundance of music being produced by budding artists eager to make themselves heard.. Interns will work remotely for the duration of the internship with three weekly teleconference meetings as well as daily communication.

Interns will:

– Manage the official Mezz Entertainment Spotify Playlist, SoundCloud Playlist, and Youtube Playlist
– Update the respective platforms weekly with new content
– Coordinate submissions from up and coming artists who want to be part of our playlists
– Curate the playlists after working with team members and deciding which tracks to include on respective playlists
– Watch video submissions for YouTube Playlist
– Manage growth of playlists
– Develop and maintain contacts throughout music and entertainment industry
– Communicate with their team daily
