This week (Dec. 15) DJ Wonder went LIVE on AnimalStatus with Brooklyn’s very own Mercy Porter.
Porter, who Wonder calls the “next heartthrob,” started off the interview talking about his childhood and how he always knew he wanted to do music. He spoke about his first mixtape, Radio Music, in 2019, his relationship with the late Pop Smoke, his newest single “Peta Luga,” and what he has going on in the future.
His latest single “Peta Luga” was inspired by NYC’s famed Peter Luger Steak House with the music video also being shot at this iconic location. This track demonstrates how Mercy is pushing the boundaries on R&B to try and create a timeless sound and differentiate himself from others.
