DJ Wonder: Serato Takeover

On July 25th, DJ Wonder partnered with Serato, the world’s top DJ software company, to perform a two and a half hour live stream on their Twitch account.  Serato supplies audio software for DJ’s and music lovers alike throughout the globe.

Serato’s mission is to “deliver the best possible experience for creating, playing and sharing music, wherever you are”.  This is quite fitting during these uncertain times where typical DJ performances are not happening.  Due to COVID-19’s social distancing guidelines, most events and club spaces are not open for performances, leaving DJ’s itching to share their talent elsewhere.  This has led to many artists and DJ’s hosting live streaming events on various platforms- Instagram, Facebook, Zoom, and Twitch.

The set opened with some laid-back music as DJ Wonder welcomed the viewers, gave shoutouts to those who signed on to watch his set, and announced that he would be playing 200 records during the stream.  Throughout the set, he switched between the front camera and the Serato screen, letting the fans get an inside scoop on his technique and showing off Serato’s state of the art technology.

He let his personality and style shine as he rocked a Yankees snapback and a Guy Fieri black t-shirt with white barbed wire on the trim. Even from home, he still looked fresh! Throughout the set, he switched the backdrops from a sleek silver and black background to clips from some of his favorite 90’s movies with a green screen.  He played a large variety of music, ranging from harmonica beats, funk, soul, electric, 90’s hits and more.

Wonder not only interacted with fans throughout the set but also had giveaways, selecting a few lucky viewers to win some original DJ Wonder t-shirts and hoodies.  Check out his website to see more of his merch.
