John Owen is a singer/songwriter from Phoenix, Arizona. Inspired by his dad’s U2 & Springsteen cassettes, along with classic rock CDs burned from Limewire that his Uncle sent each month, John started writing songs at 10 and learned how to play guitar and piano by ear. At age 12, he started recording acoustic demos using the microphone in his webcam and piecing together parts using Windows Movie Maker. From there, he moved on to GarageBand and eventually started having actual producers engineering his songs.
Although his love for writing and recording is strong, his love for the stage and face to face connection is stronger. When performing, he aims to deliver a raw picture of himself that resonates with the audience. John speaks openly from the stage about his mental health struggles in the hope that others and himself can find healing in sharing one another’s pain.
