Our Mezz Music Monday playlist allows for artists to share their music and promote their songs to a new audience. For this week’s feature, we want to put the spotlight on Sage Thomas, an up-and-coming singer/songwriter whose song “Stuck” appeared on the most recent playlist.
As an artist, Sage creates her songs based upon her own feelings and hopes she can evoke these sentiments in her listeners. She has always loved music; even carrying around a portable CD player everywhere she went growing up. At the young age of 13, she decided to start seriously pursuing music. Now, she uses her music to connect with her audience and their own lives.
Similar to many great artists, Sage likes to create a story in her art. She uses her personal life and feelings as inspiration. Music has become an outlet for her to process her feelings and release emotion.
Released in 2020, “Stuck” starts with a deeply emotional yet calming intro that will instantly grab the listener’s attention. Her voice easily combines with the music to create a mellow track discussing relationships and the challenges of moving on from someone you still love. Sage ends the song on a heartbreaking note, singing: “You were my dream that didn’t come true/And I’ll have to live with that for a while now.”
“Stuck” uses moving lyrics to create an intense feeling of heartbreak to the listener. It is a beautiful song that perfectly showcases Sage’s talents as a musician. From here, Sage plans on continuing to create original music and promote it on her social media platforms. Her Instagram is used to keep her audience up-to-date with information regarding new songs.
