Savage Remix: Megan Thee Stallion ft. Beyonce

A remix of Hot Girl Meg’s new song ’Savage’ was just released featuring none only than Beyonce Knowles-Carter.  No one was more excited for this drop than twenty five year rapper Meg Thee Stallion who was ecstatic to have Queen B  remix her track. Megan was so overwhelmed while hearing it for the first time she immediately called her grandma in crying tears of joy.  The remix comes less than two months after the original track dropped on March 6th.

The song ‘Savage’ has been widely successful.  The song rose to quick popularity after social media platform Tik Tok  started the “Savage challenge”.  Users dance along to the track, often times making up their own choreography or following the choreography of influencers such as Charlie D’Amelio, Addison Rae, and The Rock Johnson.  There are currently over twenty million user-created videos with the ‘savage’ track as its music overlay.  The ‘Savage’ track currently has 26,781,413 views and 8,553 comments on Youtube.

Meg Thee Stallion attended the Texas Southern University, this deep rooted connection with Texas is why she decided to have all the proceeds from sales of the track go to Houston’s  COVID-19 relief charity, Bread of Life.  Their mission is to “Sustain, equip and transform those in poverty and the low to moderate income communities with compassion and dignity”.  Since the remix dropped there has been a spike in donations to the organization, receiving an upwards of 500 new donors just twenty four hours after the release.  Visit their website for more information on the amazing things this organization is doing and how you can help.

The reasoning behind Beyonce ’s decision to make this remix is debatable.  Being a Houston native it is likely that Beyonce’s goal with this track was to increase the funding of the close to home charity Bread of Life.  Another reason could be because Blue Ivy, Beyonce’s Daughter, is just as  Tik Tok crazed as everyone else and after playing the song over and over again, Mama B couldn’t get the track out of her head.  It is known that Meg Thee Stallion has been managed by Beyonce’s Husbands, Jay Z’s, label Roc Nation.  The remix could have been suggested by Jay Z himself.  Whatever the reasoning for the remix, fans of both artists are ecstatic  and grateful for the track.

JWhite created the beat for the original song and Meg Thee Stallion did the rest.  The remix was kept a secret, Meg Thee Stallion claims she didn’t tell anyone, not her team and not even her best friend.  Queen B dug deep finding her inner rapper and similarly to everything else she does, it was a huge success.  Within her verse’s she name drops companies Tik Tok and Fans Only as well as mentioning her mother, Tina Knowles.

The track has already made it on the charts reaching the number five spot the week it dropped.  It is projected to reach the number one spot by the end of the week.
